Iraqi Court Orders Christian Mother and Children to Convert to Islam

Christians in the Middle East endure persecution not only from extremist groups but also from governmental authorities. Recently, an Iraqi court caused outrage by ordering Evlin Joseph, a Christian Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian woman and mother of three from Duhok, to convert to Islam along with her children. This decision was made because Joseph’s mother had converted to Islam when Joseph was 15 years old.
